Playing Tomebau in The Doll Behind the Curtain at Tête à Tête

I'm delighted to have been asked to play Tomebau in Amir Mahyar Tafreshipour's new opera, The Doll behind the Curtain, at this year's Tête à Tête festival on the 6th and 7th of April.

The first Iranian opera with an English libretto, it's a haunting story of a student’s all-consuming obsession with a beautiful shop mannequin. It explores the dissonance, both musical and cultural, between East and West and tradition and modernity. An innovative, psychological work of musical theatre. My character, Tomebau, owns the mannequin and helps cast a spell of desire over the young student. For details and tickets, click here.
